Where to find true happiness and joy?

Since the dawn of humanity, one question has troubled human existence and demonstrated its deepest desires.
The question is: “Where and how can I or in whom can I find happiness?” Some theologians and philosophers have tried to answer this question.

CS Lewis best expressed this longing and quest when he said: “If I find within myself a desire which no experience of this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
If none of my earthly pleasures can satisfy you, that doesn't prove the universe is a fraud.
Earthly pleasures are probably not meant to satisfy you, but only to awaken you, to suggest the real thing.”
CS Lewis describes how these longings manifest themselves, but the Bible gives us the answer to our question and begins with the author of the book of Ecclesiastes in chapter 3 verse 11 who says: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He also placed in the heart of man a deep desire for eternity; yet man cannot fully grasp what God has accomplished.”
Augustine of Hippo's View on Happiness
Echoing the author of Ecclesiastes, Augustine of Hippo gives us a glimpse of the answer to our question when he says: “You have made us, Lord, for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”
Jonathan Edwards says, “We are truly happy when we are “united with God in love,” when our hearts are “drawn nearer and nearer to God, and our union with him becomes firmer and closer.”
According to Edwards: “As all things come from God as their first cause and source, so all things tend towards him.
And as they progress they will come ever closer to him for all eternity, which confirms that he who is their first cause is their ultimate end.”
We must understand that true happiness is inseparable from the glory of God.
Humanity was created to glorify God, to live in communion with him, and human beings are truly happy only when they fulfill this purpose.
